Mihai Pruna
Science Fiction Author
“Of the gladdest moments in human life, methinks is the departure upon a distant journey to unknown lands…” – Sir Richard Francis Burton
Mihai Pruna was born and raised in Romania when it was still under communist rule. He immigrated to the United States as a young adult and attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he attained a master’s in aerospace engineering. He still lives in the United States today.
Mihai works as an independent Computer Aided Engineering software developer, pushing the boundaries every day in the cutting-edge fields of simulation, computational parametric design, and automatic optimization.
But creative writing is what Mihai has always been intrigued with, ever since he developed a taste for science fiction books in his youth. Now, he has expressed this for himself, in his alternate history novel The Shift, and in Blood in the Sandbox, a novella that depicts a future world in an all too plausible tone.
In his free time, Mihai enjoys surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. He also has a long-term interest in vintage computing technology and has gone to great lengths to ensure that this is preserved for future generations to marvel at. As part of this hobby he has his own collection of old computers and gadgets and he is active in several online groups.
In the future, Mihai wants to expand the universe of The Shift into a series called “Worlds of Juno” in which readers can immerse themselves and forget about the real world.
